A rich confit of plums slowly simmered with local heirloom apples, raisins, a rich ruby port and star anise.
Sourcing most of their fruit in-season from local farms, Blake Hill produces a stunning line of traditionally made, creatively concocted fruit preserves in the tiny village of Grafton in Southern Vermont. Informed by the owners’ Vicky Allard and Joe Hanglin’s eclectic backgrounds (she is a third generation preserve maker from England, and he is a native Gibraltan with British, Spanish, and Italian ancestry), their chutneys, marmalades and jams have their foundation in the British preserving tradition, while also pushing boundaries with Spanish and Moroccan-influenced flavor combinations. Blake Hill Preserves are made the old-fashioned way: slow-cooked, with no artificial preservatives, and a high fruit to sugar ratio. Kosher-certified.
