Teapigs Popcorn Tea
Quick Overview :
Teapigs believes you should never have a bad brew. They use only whole-leaf teas sourced from selected estates. A blend of all-stars, it's no wonder this brew won First Place at the North American Tea Championship in 2013! Popcorn Tea is a traditional Japanese green tea, brewed with toasted rice. Referred to as "sugar puffs in a cup," this brew has a slightly nutty taste to go along with its unexpected ingredient.

The Flavor Experience
No, it's not really soggy popcorn kernels floating around your teacup! Known as "Genmaicha tea" in Japan, Popcorn Tea has rather humble origins. Since green tea was so expensive, poor Japanese peasants would brew green tea with toasted rice to make the leaves last longer. Teapigs, one of our favorite English exports, has brought the tradition stateside with their Popcorn Tea bags.
Teapigs was started in 2006 by two self-proclaimed tea addicts, one of whom is a certified Tea Taster. Disappointed with the availability of high quality teas, they set out to make their own. Teapigs is committed to sourcing the best whole leaf tea from only selected estates, including those in China, India, Rwanda, South Africa, and Morocco. And it's tea you can feel good about: Teapigs donates a portions of the proceeds of English Breakfast to an orphanage in Rwanda situated near the fields the tea is plucked from.
No need for milk, sugar, lemon, or honey! Enjoy Popcorn tea all on its own. Pop a bowl of the real stuff and roll your favorite movie.
