Balsamic Bellavitano

Parm-esque with hints of sweet balsamic.

Quick Overview:

Saving you the step of drizzling balsamic on your cheese.

Quick Facts

Country of Origin: Antigo, WI
Milk Type/Treatment: Pasteurized Cow
Rennet Type: Vegetarian

The Flavor Experience

Nutty, crunchy Parm flavors amped up by a sweet balsamic exterior. The rare instance of a delicious cheese and balsamic pairing where you can wear a white shirt and not fear staining yourself.

The Story

Sartori is an industry pioneer and fourth generation family company. (Can you guess why we like them?) Once upon the 1990s, they fashioned a cheese inspired by traditional Italian farmstead cheese, and named it BellaVitano, which means "the beautiful life." It became a smash cheese hit for having a likeness to Parmigiano Reggiano, but with a creamier mouthfeel and lower price point. It's won international, national, and state awards - that's a pretty big deal for an American take on Parm. They still make that cheese to this day, as well as a variety of different flavored iterations. We love them all.

Usage Tips

Cut this cheese into little chunks and wrap the pieces in prosciutto for a nifty meat and cheese snack - try La Quercia's American proscuitto line to keep the whole thing Domestic. Add a glass of Lambrusco or Prosecco to complete the whole experience.
