The Flavor Experience

The name of this cheese translates roughly as "buttery," you'll be just as eager to smear it on crusty bread as you will be to enjoy it with fresh crisp greens. Taste it and you'll see why Burrata is one of the most beloved handmade cheeses.

The Story

Calabro's handmade Burrata di Bufala is made every day from fresh Buffalo milk. This artisan product starts life as Buffalo Milk Mozzarella, which is then stretched by hand into a thin sheet, then filled with Stracciatella (hand pulled strands of Buffalo Mozzarella) and sweet Buffalo Milk cream. The sheet is rolled up and formed into a ball, enclosing the fillings and tied with a string to embody this ambrosial delicacy.

Usage Tips

Burrata di Bufala can be enjoyed all on its own with a drizzle of olive oil, or scooped onto your favorite crusty bread. It can also be used in salads, on top of pizza, or can be added to your favorite pasta dish. A classic recipe is caprese: simply add tomatoes, basil, and olive oil.
