COVID-19-UPDATES

Our number one priority is the safety of our employees and customers. We also understand our role as a neighborhood grocery store is important to serving our community. During these challenging times, we are doing everything we can to be here for you and meet your needs while taking proactive measures to protect and ensure the well being of employees and customers.

Here are our important updates along with a reiteration of our efforts:

Safety & Sanitation

  • As a neighborhood grocery, our stores remain open. We have adjusted store hours of operations to open one hour later and close one hour earlier to allow for even more cleaning measures to take place at the beginning and end of each day.

  • We have a senior and high risk shopping hour from 8am to 9am every Friday. All store hours are updated on dibruno.com

  • As of 4/19 all employees must wear masks, and all customers must wear masks inside the store

  • We limit the number of customers in a location at any one time, monitored by a dedicated associate at the door

  • We offer all our customers sanitizer and gloves (and masks if needed)

  • We deep clean all locations using an outside 3rd party cleaning firm weekly

  • We encourage our customers to socially distance using sticker markers on the floor

  • We have a dedicated crew of employees regularly cleaning and wiping down all locations, including high touch areas

  • We clean all carts and handbaskets between customers

  • We have installed shields at registers and check out areas to separate cashiers and customers

  • We have a hand washing station for customers

  • Our employees regularly wash hands, at least every hour

  • We sanitize all registers regularly, at least every hour

Our teams:

  • As always we prioritize the health and safety of our employees and we are ensuring they stay home if they are feeling ill.

  • We continue to provide support, guidance, and information to our teams so they can keep themselves, their families, and our customers safe and healthy.

  • Our teams are receiving enhanced safe food handling, hygiene, and handwashing training daily.

  • We have expanded access to free medical consultation for all employees.

Expert Health and Safety Advisory team:
  • We are working closely with Dr. Stephen Gluckman, Medical Director, Penn Global Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and touch base with him regularly for consultation and advice on the latest updates and precautionary measures.
  • We are consulting with health experts and monitoring their recommendations including guidance from World Health Organizations, the CDC as well as state, city, and local officials to ensure we are implementing and proactively communicating all necessary measures and the latest updated information.

Our Community:

  • Every Monday we donate 5% of our sales to a local hospital or community organization.  So far have raised $7,500 to donate to Jefferson Hospital's ‘Better Together COVID- 19 fund’, and $2500 for Project Home.

  • We have donated over 1000 jars and 1000 lbs. of pasta to the students, families and community of the St. James School in North Philadelphia

  • We provide over 200 meals a week to our frontline healthcare workers at University of Penn, Jefferson and Einstein Hospital. That’s over 1200 meals and counting.

  • We’ve donated 1000 jars of sauce and 1000 lbs of pasta to Project Home

  • Each night we provide food from our stores to Philabundance who takes our food to vulnerable in Philadelphia
