Quick Facts

Origin: Asti, Italy
Unit Size: 400g

The Flavor Experience

Elegant metal boxes with festively wrapped pieces of:

  • Torrone (nougat) is a traditional Christmas and winter treat in Italy - typically made with honey, sugar, egg whites, and toasted nuts.
  • Chocolate-Covered Torrone
  • Giandujotto - traditional Piedmontese chocolates whose shape is similar to an upturned boat.
  • Artisan Truffles - studded with various Italian liquor centers

The Story

Founded in Asti, Piemonte in 1883, Davide Barbero’s family has been making torrone hazelnut nougat for five generations. They are the last truly traditional producer still in Asti - property in this fairly cosmopolitan area has been selling like mad for years, but the Barbero family refuses to move from where their roots are, no matter the amount of money offered. Their dedication to their ingredients being the best that they can be is just as strong - unlike more mass- produced torrone, they use real vanilla (not vanillan), cage free egg whites, and geographically-protected hazelnuts from Piemonte.

Usage Tips

This tin is something to gift, either to others or as a treat to yourself. Unwrap the colorful wrappers and enjoy each and every delicious bite.
