PLEASE NOTE: Due to an extraordinary amount of charitable donation requests, Di Bruno Bros. has exceeded their donation budget at this time. We will be accepting new donation requests beginning this summer, so please stay tuned for our update.
Di Bruno Bros. has been a part of the fabric of Philadelphia since the opening of our Italian Market location in 1939. As one of the founding food families in Philadelphia, we’re committed to ensuring Philadelphia remains a world-class food city with rich corridors. Our dedication to this city doesn’t stop there — our leadership is actively involved in local organizations and we prioritize and partner with countless charitable organizations in the area. We’ve been celebrating Great Food, Great People and Great Business everyday since Danny and Joe opened their doors in 1939.
"Philly is a very loyal city — especially when it comes to its food, sports, history and identity. As a business owner in Philadelphia, that’s something you have to understand — Danny and Joe knew that from the very beginning. They taught us to never underestimate this city or take it for granted. We are proud to give back to the city that’s given so much to us." -Bill Mignucci
Current Key Charity Partners
St. James School
This past year, we dedicate our 75th Anniversary to giving back, by partnering with St. James School to build a Neighborhood Kitchen for the school and surrounding community. This new kitchen will serve as a Food Resource Center, distributing food and meals to student homes in need, providing fresher and healthier meals for students, and educating the students and the community about cooking and healthy eating. We’re proud to be part of this important effort.
Thank you to our customers, our partners, and our associates for their relentless efforts in raising $75,000 this year for this worthy cause.
After months of fundraising, construction, and preparation, the Di Bruno Bros. Neighborhood Kitchen at St. James School is finally open! The kitchen serves as a Food Resource Center, providing everything from food and meals to student homes in need, to providing a healthier food-alternative for students, and at the same time, educating the students and community about cooking and eating healthily.
Ronald McDonald House
We’re proud to be a partner of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, where a community of comfort and hope is created for families of seriously ill children. Each year, our team is thrilled to compete in the Plane Pull to raise money for families to stay at the Ronald McDonald House, free of charge. We look forward to supporting such a wonderful organization now and in many years to come.

OUR DONATION PHILOSOPHY & HOW TO REQUEST A DONATION
We at Di Bruno Bros. value our friends, family and neighbors and believe that giving back to the community is the key to “Celebrating Great Food and Great People.” We really enjoy donating to our community, but there are specific causes that Di Bruno Bros. donates to because they move our heart.
Your organization should fall in one of these categories:
- Organizations or causes in our immediate communities & neighborhood
- Terminal diseases related events/organizations
- Events and organizations that support children in need
We love donating to the community, but we can only donate to your organization once a year. We like to give other organizations the opportunity of being helped by us, as your organization has experienced before.
A formal written request is required for all donation requests. Requests by phone will not be accepted, but you can send the attached form below to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your organization must be a registered 501c3and present formal documentation with your request (Tax ID# and copy of your 501c3 designation letter). Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we request that the application is submitted 30 days prior to the event. We recommend sending early applications for a better chance of approval, Event Sponsorships requests must be submitted 60 days prior to the event.
Due to an extraordinary amount of Charitable Donation requests, we are temporarily not accepting additional requests at this time. We will resume accepting requests for donations this summer. For urgent requests only, we encourage you to complete a donation request form, and mail the completed form along with your tax exempt form to:
