Hints of spring onion, grass, and freshly churned butter; A paste that is dense and smooth with just the right amount of give, a true cheddar as it was made centuries ago; Keen's is like the phone booth from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

The Flavor Experience
If your great great great grandfather were from Somerset and still alive, this is what he'd want for lunch. Grassy, brassy, and a bit spicy with a nice buttery flavor and texture to even things out.
Keen's is one the three true west country cheddars and has been made at Moorhayes Farm by the Keen family since 1898. The wheels of Keen's that are sent for export are slightly smaller but no more diminutive in terms of taste.
Keen's strength demands strength. Pair it with an IPA but nothing that's going to strip your tongue of tastebuds. Choose a pepper jelly or honey with basque pepper to add to the party.
