Country of Origin: Italy
Milk Type/Treatment: Pasteurized Sheep

The Flavor Experience

In early spring, pastures are lush with green, fragrant grass and dozens of sheep grazing peacefully on the hills of Tuscany. The stunning view is encapsulated in the bright, floral flavors of Marzolino, a soft sheep's milk with an ivory paste and irresistible creaminess.

The Story

In 1966, Cugusi Pietrino, his wife Mulas Maria Antonia, and their six children moved from Sardinia to Montepulciano. Years of hard work and sacrifices led them to begin producing and selling milk from the flocks of sheep on their farm. After finishing school, Emilio and Graziano returned to their family dairy. They formed partnerships with local farmers in their community to help produce and sell more varieties of cheese but remain true to their roots in creating one-of-a-kind sheep's milk styles.

Usage Tips

Enjoy wedges of Marzolino with sliced tomato, basil, and a drizzle of olive oil.

  1. Not your ordinary Pecorino

Pecorino Marzolino has a not too sheepy mellow taste that sits well on the tongue. While not a soft cheese it slices beautifully. Not paying attention I ate about 4oz without trying. Better than most other Pecorinos.
