I’ve made homemade ramen base before and - for the low effort involved - this is on par. I augmented with Momofuko chili spice and tamari sauce. Excellent.

I almost never use any prepackaged product like this as making it from scratch is invariably better. However, this product has all the homemade, long simmered unctiousness that is a seriously delicious soup base. Every person we have served it to has raved about it and asked how I made the dish. Answer: I browned some pork short ribs (available from Snake River Farms) in my slow cooker (it has a sautee option) added the ramen base and bok choy, snow peas, mushrooms and let it simmer until the short ribs are done. I prefer to make it at least one day ahead of serving to let the flavors marry. The ramen noodles are boiled separately just before serving and the broth, veggies and pulled pork meat are poured over the top. You'll love it!!
