The Flavor Experience
A soft take on cheddar from a creamery that mostly produces Parm styles, MontAmore is a crumbly iteration of two popular cheeses combined. Grassy cheddar notes are balanced by nutty Parm flavors for one delicious cheese that you'll just fall in love with. It's named for the vast and beautiful Dolomite mountains that tower above the Sartori hometown of Valdastico, Italy.
Sartori is an industry pioneer and fourth generation family company. (Can you guess why we like them?) Once upon the 1990s, they fashioned a cheese inspired by traditional Italian farmstead cheese, and named it BellaVitano, which means "the beautiful life." It became a smash cheese hit for having a likeness to Parmigiano Reggiano, but with a creamier mouthfeel and lower price point. It's won international, national, and state awards - that's a pretty big deal for an American take on Parm. They still make that cheese to this day, as well as a variety of different flavored iterations. We love them all.
Sartori suggests making Mac n'MontAmore, and we support this cheesy pasta idea. You can also bake it in a tart, preferably with figs, or just eat slices drizzled in a rich balsamic reduction. Thin shavings could make for a great pizza topper.
