Wagon Wheel

A sweet, melty cheese that does it all.

Quick Overview:

Warm and welcoming cheese that goes with everything.

Quick Facts

Country of Origin: United States - California
Milk Type/Treatment: Cow
Rennet Type: Traditional

The Flavor Experience

Supple, buttery, oh-so-luxurious. Wagon Wheel may not sound like fancy cheese, but one look at its rosy-hued rind will assure you it’s a fine delicacy. Salty, smooth, mellow with just a hint of tartness, it’s an easy-to-love cheese every chef needs in their fridge.

The Story

After 17 years in some of San Francisco’s best restaurants, Sue Conley and Peggy Smith were ready for a new challenge. The college friends rekindled their friendship by buying a renovated hay barn in the small town of Pt. Reye Station. Inspired by the barn, the two began using milk from the neighboring creameries to make fresh, delicious cheeses. The rest is history.

Usage Tips

Slice and serve on an after-dinner cheese plate with a bright Pinot Blanc alongside. Melt over burgers, or toss into mac and cheese for an extra level of flavor.
