Strange and Wonderful Snacks for the Return of Twin Peaks
Whether you've got hours and hours of binge-watching old episodes ahead, or if you're planning Sunday evening viewing parties for the next few months, Twin Peaks is coming back onto many of our radars. And with so much screen time ahead, you're going to need snacks. Director David Lynch has made it widely known that his time in Philadelphia during the 1960s had a major impact on his style and his views of the world. We don't know for sure if our Italian Market store was on his radar, but we fans can hope...

Let's Rock!

Set your log table and break out the red room decorations. We've got snacks aplenty besides just a box of doughnuts...

First off, you're obviously going to need a Damn Fine cup of coffee.

Get buzzy. Brew up a pot of Dale Cooper's iconic beverage addiction, and ideally drink it as black as midnight on a mooness night. Maybe pair it two eggs, over hard. We know, don't tell us; it's hard on the arteries, but old habits die hard — just about as hard as we want those eggs. Bacon, super-crispy. Almost burned. Cremated. That's great. And, grapefruit juice, just as long as those grapefruits are freshly squeezed... Naturally, go with a coffee roasted in Philadelphia to make David Lynch proud. Di Bruno Bros. partnered with Good Food Award-winning Philly roaster ReAnimator Coffee for our line of private label coffee roasts. A local roaster dedicated to seeking out the highest quality coffee beans throughout the world, ReAnimator has quickly established itself as a notable small-batch purveyor of flavor and quality. We're proud to collaborate with a company that not only creates a product we can't stop drinking, but also sources responsibly and strives to support and help maintain the communities at the root of this exceptional coffee.

Cherry Culture

Whether you're baking them in a pie, or tying the stems in a knot with your tongue, any Twin Peaks fan knows the importance of the humble cherry. Be it tart, sweet, glossy red or vampish in color, a cherry is pivotal to your snacking session. Delice de Bourgogne + Amarena Our favorite cherry anything, time and time again, is the wild amarena cherry. (Wild like Audrey? Sure, why not.) Amarena cherries pose the perfect counterpoint to any savory or salty component—think duck prosciutto, goat cheese, Jamon Serrano, pistachio—and have just enough acidity to cut through fat with sweetness to counter the salt. Also, a chocolate cake will never be the same. Cocktails? Maraschino? Whatever!!!

"It's a baguette, with brie and butter."

The Horne brothers were notorious for their dastardly deeds and buckets of money. However, Jerry Horne truly had one of his most shining moments when he came back from a trip to France with the ultimate French sandwich - a baguette, slathered in butter and brie. The recipe is right there in the description - all you need are the right ingredients. (Sorry, we can't ship you bread through the internet just yet, but we've got lots of baguettes in the stores!) Naturally, they've got to be French, Image 1 Rodolphe Le Meunier Salted Butter is a traditional churned (“baratte”) butter, churned from fresh Normandy cream, molded by hand, sprinkled with French sea salt, stamped with the likeness of a cow and sent our way. This traditional Norman brie is gooey, with a desirable snap on the rind. If you've got a few bites left after you're done with this sandwich, this cheese will provide a rich, buttery backdrop for whatever fixin’s you have. Jerry did leave his delicious sandwich inside of a suitcase for his plane ride from France to the Pacific Northwest...don't feel the need to do the same. Unless you want to...but we don't recommend it.

Cured Norweigan Salmon

In the show, it was said that the Norwegians were "cheese eaters," but we bet they'd love this salmon too. It's got the perfect balance of salt & smoke, and it sees right through Ben Horne's Ghostwood sales pitch. Just keep it out of the percolator... Image 1

An "Invitation to Love" A Box of Mixed Chocolates

When Nadine's drape runner dreams were dashed, she cried on the couch with a box of bon bons. Listen, it's not 1990 any more. We've stepped up the chocolates game. So seek out bon bons if you want to be that authentic, but if you prefer something tastier, try this mixed assortment from our friends at Bridge Street Chocolates. They're small-batch, handcrafted & local to us. If eating them straight out of the box isn't your thing, try dotting your next cheese plate with a few pieces from this assortment for a sweet complement to salty and savory cheeses. Prima Donna in particular cozies up quite well to fancy truffles...

Want to keep things a little more classic? Try the Binge Watch Sampler.

Spoiler alert! You’re about to embark on a culinary adventure, crunching through spicy wasabi peas, peaking at one of our most popular cheese pairings, and coasting slowly back down in a haze of snack bliss. Whether its movie night, date night or time to seriously catch up on your show-of-the-moment, this bundle's for you.

We admit that we haven't posted something for maple-glazed ham (some fans we are...) but are there any other Twin Peaks-themed foods that we've missed? Let us know in the comments, and happy TV binging!
