World-renowned cheese expert and artisanal cheese advocate, Max McCalman is visiting Philly this month! Awarded the title of Maître Fromager from France's Guilde Internationale des Fromagers Comfrérie de Saint-Uguzon, Max is an esteemed cheese advocate, writer, judge, and critic.
After years of fine dining experience, Max joined Picholine Restaurant in New York City where he was Maître d'Hotel. Max soon launched cheese service at Picholine in 1995, where he spearheaded the installment of the first temperature and humidity controlled cheese cave in a North American restaurant. Max has since written a slew of award-winning books about cheese including the popular Mastering Cheese and is at the helm of the cheese industry with his numerous written articles, events, consultations for restaurants, retailers, and cheesemakers, and has made his way into online cheese education.
We're very excited to welcome Max McCalman to Di Bruno Bros. for a very special event! 18 lucky guests will be able to taste myriad cheese pairings all while enjoying delicious wine pairings from Moore Brothers of New Jersey. Max and our co-owner and VP of Culinary Pioneering, Emilio Mignucci, will be hosting the event, educating the guests as they taste their way through delicious cheese pairings on Sunday February 22 from 6:30pm-9:00pm.
