The Flavor Experience

To create their luscious apple butter, the folks at Tait Farms bring apples to a boil in an old-fashioned kettle. No additional sweeteners or spices are added, just simple, delicious apples.

The Story

Marian and Elton Tait purchased a humble farm in 1950 with the simple goal to raise their three kids and a few chickens, sheep, hogs, Basset hounds, and horses--you know, casually. However, it wasn't until their two sons (David and John) returned home after college that their farm became a thriving business. When a few weeks of rain nearly ruined a year's crop, David remembered a delicious family recipe for preserves, laying the foundation for today's nearly 50 varieties of shrub, spreads, sauces, and jams.

Usage Tips

It's fair to say almost all things can be made better with a smear of apple butter over top, but our favorite combination may be when it's layered between warm, gooey brie on a toasted croissant.
