Next week the Di Bruno book tour crew heads to Madison, Wisconsin for the annual American Cheese Society Conference. Come join us at one of our three book events to celebrate The Di Bruno Bros House of Cheese: A Guide to Wedges, Recipes, and Pairings, written by yours truly:
- A 7-course cheese feast, Aug. 1
- A wine and Wisconsin cheese tasting, Aug. 2
- ACS book signing in Monona Terrace, Aug. 3
Here are the details:
Seven-course Cheese Feast, Aug. 1
We sent Chef Francesco Magnano of Restaurant Papavero (128 E. Wilson) a copy of our book and asked him to prepare a special menu around a few cheeses. He was so excited by the selections, he chose seven!
Emilio Mignucci and I look forward to welcoming you at one of two seatings (5:30 or 8 p.m.) for a special night of cheese. Featured wedges include: Harbison, Casatica di Bufala, Evalon, Pantaleo, Tomme de Savoie, Foja de Noce, Scamorza, and Cremificato Verde Capra.
All of the cheeses are in our new book – each diner will receive a copy. For reservations ($85, includes wine), please call the restaurant: 608.255-8376
A Wine and Wisconsin Cheese Tasting, Aug. 2
Madison’s premier downtown bottle shop, Square Wine (5 N. Pinckney), hosts a much-loved happy hour on Friday’s where owner Andrea Hillsey pops her favorite wines of the weeks. On August 2, she’s selected six wines to pair with three Wisconsin cheeses we love: Uplands Pleasant Ridge Reserve, Grande Provolone, and Evalon.
Di Bruno Bros. cheesemongers Matt Shankle and Rich Morill will be in house to serve up three recipes from our new book that feature these cheeses. Mingle, sip, shnibble, and get your book signed. Square Wine is now carrying copies. $15 cover; 6-8 p.m
ACS book signing in Monona Terrace, Aug. 3
Meet ol’ Madame Fromage, author of The Di Bruno Bros. House of Cheese to get your signed copy, from 10:15 – 10:45 a.m. in the book room of Monona Terrace. A big thanks to local bookstore A Room of One’s Own for selling our new opus at the conference.
The American Cheese Society Conference takes place in Madison, WI from July 31-Aug.4. Prepare for the dairy deluge!
