John & Kira Doyle seemed destined to have their super-cool, socially-responsible company from the beginning. Both chefs in New York and Philadelphia, the idea for a chocolate company, came during a road trip John took around the Northeast. The couple has been crafting chocolate confections since 2002, with all ingredients sourced from local farms and urban gardens.
