Firm and slightly oily, a bit of salt in the finish. The only cheese that approaches Parmigiano Reggiano in sales.
Country of Origin: Holland
Milk Type/Treatment: Pasteurized Cow
Rennet Type: Traditional calf rennet
The inspiration for Prima Donna was to create a hybrid of Parmigiano Reggiano and Gouda, and they seem to have found a pretty good balance between the two.
This is essentially Gouda made with starter cultures that are typically used in northern Italy. These cultures result in a sweeter cheese than you would typically find in Holland.
Pair with most beers or red wines. We love it with Black Lava Cashews or Cinnful Cocoa Pecans.

We enjoyed this cheese. The flavor is exactly as described. It pared well with crostini & balsamic glaze. Great snack or to serve to company.
Best cheese ever! I had this cheese recommended when I visited the store years ago, now I get it delivered from Tennessee. Your guests will love this cherse.
Good but too dry and sharp
A fantastic cheese paired with red wine.
This is by far my favorite
I ordered Prima Donna but my daughter was sent L'amuse Gouda. As it turns out she was very happy with the L'Amuse so it was a good mistake.
This cheese is the best, it is smooth with a nutty bite. I order this regularly through DiBruno as I cannot get it in my market except for small pieces. I use it in a variety of dishes in addition to eating it with a nice glass of wine. I hope you bring back the kilo size of this cheese.
Whenever my wife and I visit our good friends in Conshohocken, we always stop by Di Bruno Brothers on our way to the airport to come home. And Prima Donna is ALWAYS on the plane with us. It is, in a word, remarkable!
