The Story

This is one of the original cheese spreads that started it all. During the 1970s, the oil embargo was a burden for the shop, depending so strongly on imports. Our founders, Danny and Joe, turned to Wisconsin cheddar producers to provide the base for their now-infamous cheese spreads.

Usage Tips

You’ll have no shame evoking restaurant memories with our favorite garlic bread: a split baguette spread with a blend of butter, Grated Pecorino Romano, and Roasted Garlic & Herb Spread. When you place this under the broiler, you’ll know it’s done by the tell-tale browning ridges. You may skip the main course altogether, but don’t you’ll probably have a hankering for a big plate of spaghetti with Di Bruno Bros. Sweet Basil and Garlic Tomato Sauce.

    I chose the garlic & herb for their strong flavors, but the cheddar still dominates this spread. Not a bad thing, necessarily, but I wonder if the plain cheddar would have tasted the same.

    I have purchased several cheese from DiBruno Bros. and have been very pleased with everything. This is the first time I'm buying this cheese spread and will serve it over the holidays. I am sure it will be as good as all the other cheese.

    I've used it on a lot of stuff: bagels, crostinis, toasts. Easy to scoop up and apply, even from the fridge. Never chunky or lumpy, I love it!
