Prosciutto...
Enjoyed it very much. I am going to be visiting the Parma area this October and I am just preparing my palette for “the good stuff”.
Thank you.
Painted with the breezes of Parma.
Unmistakeable and unique flavor and aroma. Quite possibly the finest prosciutto in the world.
Origin: Italy
Animal Type: Pig
The finest we have encountered and quite possibly the finest prosciutto in the world. Careful and rigorous selection of fresh pork legs are salted and cured using natural ingredients and traditional artisan processes. The ham is allowed to age slowly for several months with periods of exposure to the rich, “flavorful” breeze of Parma, thus developing an unmistakable and unique tempting aroma and flavor. The meat’s natural flavor, complete with hints of mixed nuts along with a salty-sweet finish, is exquisite. Sliced thinly, it will literally melt in your mouth.
Parma, Italy is as rich in history and culture as it's famous meats are in flavor. Known also for its architecture and the University of Parma (one of the oldest in the world), it's located in the Emilia-Romagna region. Dating back to 183 BC, Parma has been through the historical gauntlet; sacked by Attila the Hun, falling under Charlemagne's rule, besieged by Emperor Frederick II, and a sufferer of feudalism, Parma has never lost its hold on encapsulating its own terroir in meats and cheeses to present to the rest of the world.
Cote du Rhone's best friend, ripe cantaloupes partner in crime, and Parmigiano Reggiano's lover.
